Kotoka Airport to East Legon: What Visitors Should Know
Almost every international visitor to Accra lands at Kotoka International Airport (ACC). Getting from Terminal 3 to East Legon is short by distance and entirely dependent on traffic — here is what to plan for.
How long the journey takes
East Legon sits north-east of the airport. Off-peak, the drive is commonly in the 20-minute range; during weekday rush hours or in December, allow 45 minutes or more. Distance is not the issue in Accra — timing is.
Your transfer options
Complimentary pickup with us. Send your flight details when you book and we will arrange your airport pickup, so someone is waiting when you clear arrivals. It is included with your stay.
Ride-hailing apps. Widely used in Accra and inexpensive by international standards. There are designated pickup points at the airport; you will need mobile data or airport Wi-Fi to order.
Airport taxis. Available directly outside arrivals. Agree the fare before setting off.
Car rental. If you would rather drive yourself, we can help arrange rental, and parking at the property is free.
On arrival at the airport
Terminal 3 handles international flights. After immigration and baggage, you will find SIM-card vendors and currency exchange in the arrivals area — picking up a local SIM with data early makes everything else easier. ATMs are available; the local currency is the cedi (GHS).
Arriving late at night
Late arrivals are normal for long-haul flights into Accra. Our secretary is reachable 24/7, check-in can be arranged around your flight, and light snacks are waiting in the apartment so you are not hunting for food at 1am.
